Learn & Ride at Horizon
Our kitesurfing center is located directly on the beach at Horizon Beach Resort in Mastichari, on the north-west coast of Kos.
Beginner and intermediate riders will find ideal conditions to improve, enjoy the spot and get on the water easily.
Pump your kite with our compressor, walk down to the beach and head straight out on the water.
Wind Conditions
At our main spot, the wind is usually on-shore or side-on-shore from the right in the morning, following the traditional Meltemi direction.
In the afternoon, it often turns and blows more from the west.
No wind at the center? No problem. We also use our second spot at Horizon Kitesurfing Alykes, where the wind can be stronger and conditions are excellent for kiters.
About Rental
We rent kitesurfing equipment only to riders with a valid VDWS / IKO certificate.
Minimum level required: VDWS Level 4 or IKO Level 3J.
If you do not have a certificate, one of our instructors can check your skills and issue a license if your level is suitable.
This system protects riders, other beach users and the equipment. It also ensures that customers are able to handle the gear safely.
